Cute little short story of mine!
"Are you ever going to get up today?" Bryon poked his head into the bed room to see his wife, Sunstar, still in bed, well, hiding under the covers was more like it.
"I'm not getting up." Came Sunstars response.
"Oh come on, dear. Its not that bad." Bryon walked into the room.
"Grr." Sunstar growled, "You know what happens to me on this day."
"I know, you become the devil incarnate. now get up or I'll tell Battlefield." Bryon ordered.
"No." Next thing Sunstar knew, Bryon had yanked the blankets off of her, "Bryon! there is a reason why I hide!"
"Relax! So you change when the dark power is at its fullest. you do the same when the light power is at its fullest. It's okay. Now get up." Bryon pulled her out of bed.
"Bryon! If I lose control," Bryon silenced her with a kiss, "Honey, would I let you lose control?"
"No, but if I do lose control, I could destroy the Flow!"
"You won't destroy anything as long as you remember who your friends are. We talked about this. You are not going to hide on Halloween!" Bryon replied, "You are going to go out and enjoy it!"
"I'm scared."
"You can be afraid of it, or you can learn to control it."
Sunstar glanced down at her coat. Already, black fur was replacing her golden coat. She could feel her canine teeth growing sharper. Purple and black streaks began showing her her hair.
"I'm changing already. Bryon, please, don't let me lose control." her tongue split its tip, "Hold me, I'm really scared." Her eyes were the last to go.
"How are you, Sunstar?" Bryon asked, recognizing Sunstars dark form.
"Is it over?" Sunstars eyes opened as her tail flowed into a sharp point complete with a scythe, "I'm still in control?"
"You are." Bryon replied smiling, "Its not so bad is it? See? I change too, but you don't see me hiding from it. Shall we go to Castle Riverfalls for that party?"
"Yes, lets go." Sunstar felt calm. She was in control.

I will explain that. Sunstar abhors her dark form. On Halloween, the Dark power peaks and forces her to change to her dark form. In her Dark Form, Sunstar can lose control. Her solution is to hide in bed. Battlefield will pull her out of bed and stand her up, telling her she is up. I had to rush this piece, and here is the final part. This is anthro by the way.
The party was in full swing. Sunstar sat at a table with Bryon, flat out refusing to dance. Riverstar, dressed as Icestar, joined them. Milky-way was with them, dressed as a pumpkin. She was also not dancing as she was very pregnant.
"So Bryon, what did you have to do to get her here?" Riverstar asked.
Sunstar scowled.
"I dragged her here. She is going to like it." Bryon said, "Speaking of which, Why is Mage trying to eat a wicker swing set?"
"He and Battlefield decided to test the wet bar early." Riverstar smiled, "Sun, Why don't you and I take the kids trick or treating before they are scarred for life by Mage and Battlefield? Did Battlefield just stuff a swing down Mage's throat?"
"No. I'm going to sit right here and wait for midnight." Sunstar responded. She was wearing a witch costume while Bryon was dressed as Count Dracupony.
"Sunstar, just because you lost control the first time and nearly wiped out Equinova doesn't mean it will happen again. We stopped you, didn't we? Here is the deal. If you lose control, I'll go Icestar and knock some sense into you." Riverstar stood and turned to see Cupid enter with Sunfire and his baby girl, Brisa. Cupid was dressed as Cupid, complete with a diaper. Sunfire was dressed like a fairy, while little Brisa looked adorable as a little ladybug.
"Aunt Riverstar!" Sunfire hugged her aunt.
"Brisa is so cute!" Riverstar reached for her niece, "You are a cutie!" She cooed to the baby.
"Should I go deal with dad and Uncle Battlefield?" Cupid asked, watching as Mage chewed on a wicker bar.
"No need." Sunfire pointed out Andromeda and Burning Gold, "Their wives will knock some sense into them."
"Sunstar, please?" Riverstar begged, turning back to her cousin, "How do you say no to this little cutie?" Brisa giggled.
"Fine." Sunstar stood, "I'll go with you. If I lose control, I'm counting on you to stop me."
"Deal. Will all the kids gather in the center of the room for trick or treating?" Riverstar walked to the center of the ballroom. Battle Mage, dressed like a knight, Battle Sun, dressed like a princess, Riverblade, dressed like a pirate, Starblade, dressed like a parrot, and Silverstar, dressed like a ballerina, all gathered around Riverstar. Sunstar walked over to join them, clearly not happy about it.
"Who is ready for some trick or treating?" Riverstar asked.
"I am!" the kids all cried out.
"We stay together, no running ahead, and lets have fun!" Riverstar and Sunstar left with the kids.
Silverblade joined Bryon, and they watched as Andromeda, dressed as Mary Poppins, proceeded to beat Mage with her parasol. Mage ducked, as Battlefield stepped in the way and got whacked by the parasol. He promptly tried to pry the parasol out of Andromeda's hands and took another blow to the head in the process.
"So, you never hired entertainment." Bryon said.
"There is no need. Thats our entertainment over there." Silverblade chuckled, "Thats going to leave a mark."
"Yes, on the balcony. Oh! That looked painful!" Bryon winced as Mage got poked in the face by the parasol.
"Is that supposed to bend that way?"
"I don't think so."
"Should I have medical assistance standing by?"
"That might be a good idea. Oh! passing that is going to be painful."
"I can't believe he swallowed it whole." -------------------------------------------------------------------------
Surprisingly enough, Sunstar was enjoying herself as she helped Silverstar and Brisa get their candy from the stallion at the door of the house. She soon joined Riverstar on the street. They had reached the end of street.
"Time to head back!" Riverstar called.
"Wait! We didn't go to that house over there!" Battle Mage cried out.
Sunstar turned. The house was old, and rotting. A cold fear gripped her.
"We're not going to that house because I don't see a light." Sunstar replied.
"That's the old Wrenworth place. Come on! They give the best treats!" Riverstar walked the kids toward the house.
"Wait!" Sunstar lost the no light excuse as the porch light was burning. She hadn't seen it because her line of sight was blocked by a tree, "I don't feel good about this house..."
"Relax, you worrywart!" Riverstar giggled, "I used to have to drag you out to trick or treat."
The kids walked up to the door and rang the bell. Brisa was in Battle Mage's arms. The door opened slowly to reveal darkness. Then there was a scream. A figure wearing a pumpkin for a head lept out of the building. Sunstar and the kids all screamed. Riverstar was laughing.
"Tar!" Brisa cooed, reaching for the figure, who took her.
"Dad!" Sunstar screamed, "That was not funny!"
Bloodstone removed his pumpkin head, "What? I'm the Pumpkin Colt this year. How are you, Sunstar?"
"I'm in control, still." Sunstar replied

Final part! Finally posted!
Back at the party, Milky-Way looked worried. She had sensed the dark magic rising within Sunstar and prayed that her daughter in law would get through Halloween just fine. She remembered what it took to get her back last time her dark side overpowered her. If it happened again, especially this year, Milky-Way knew she wouldn't be able to calm Sunstar down due to her advanced state of pregnancy. Turning, she watched as Battlefield forced Mage to swallow another part of the swing set. Silverblade hadn't put a stop to it, and she wondered if the King had another swing set hidden somewhere to placate his daughters as the swing set was their favorite toy. Mage belched loudly. Burning Gold and Andromeda had given up on putting a stop to it and were sitting and talking about their husbands and how they were likely going to kill them later. Milky-way sighed. For once, there was nothing evil was threatening Equinova and the Guardians were able to relax. May be everything will stay calm and relaxed...
"Oh my god the Flow!" Burning Gold was up and running, Andromeda with her, toward the balcony. Milky-Way felt a vise of cold fear close over her heart. She managed to lever herself out of her chair and walk to the balcony.
Andromeda only pointed. The night was cool and clear with thousands of stars blanketing the sky. Milky-way's wandering eyes laid on the great ribbon of Light and Darkness called the Flow that should not be visible. It was twisting and lurching as if in unimaginable agony. Ever so slowly, the lower, dark half of the Flow began to rise up to blanket the white light.
"Oh my god..." Andromeda's face showed total fear.
"Is this a prank? Are the guardians behind this?" a mare cried out, her voice pleading.
"It's not..." Milky-way clamped her mouth shut quickly. Very few ponies knew who the Guardians were. It was kept this way for reasons of safety. She closed her eyes and focused on Galaxy, the only Guardian that had not come to the party.
'Mother, what is wrong? why are we seeing the Flow?'
'Milky, everything is going to be okay. remain calm. I'm on it.'
'Mother, what is happening?'
'I told you, I'm handling it.'
Galaxy closed her mind. Andromeda saw her sister standing there with a frozen look on her face. Not having a horn met you had to really work on keeping the telepathic link open. Some Unicorns could carry a conversation in their heads with telepathy and carry a second conversation with someone else outside their minds with ease. Andromeda quickly guided Milky-way to a chair. Milky-way blinked.
"Mother is being stubborn." She sighed, "I'm fine."
"The baby? You are not supposed to be using magic." Andromeda worried.
"For the last time, telepathy is metal, not magical." Milky-way glared at her younger sister, "There is a difference. The baby is fine." --------------------------------------------------
"That's not good." Silverblade stared in awe at the source where all magic came from far above him. He sometimes found it hard to believe that one ribbon of light and one ribbon of dark fused together was where his magic came from.
"I have to get to Sunstar, now." Bryon knew what was going to happen.
"Her dark side?" Silverblade asked.
"Yes." Bryon nodded, "I hope I'm not too late."
"You go. I'll handle things from my end." Silverblade broke into the crowd.
Bryon leapt to the balcony and opened his eight foot wing span. He leapt again, falling into flight. Bryon hated his small wings. Most Pegasi sported wing spans from 14 to 18 feet. He had to work at staying airborne. His father, Echelon, Lord of Thunderfalls, had been an alicorn like him. Echelons wing span stretched to a lofty 24 feet. Bryon recalled praying that his stubby wings would grow longer. Because of Pony genetics, the mothers genes decided everything in male ponies while the fathers genes dictated everything in female ponies. Bryon had been sure that his daughters wings would be short like his. Sunfire’s wing span reached 12 feet. Bryon cleared his mind. Right now was not the time or place to think about wings. He needed to focus on calming Sunstar.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Sunstar felt the change coming over her and froze. Bloodstone looked up and managed to bite back a scream. He knew what was coming and parked himself between Sunstar and the children.
“Battlesun, Battlemage, quickly, wink yourselves and the kids out of here. This is going to get messy. Don’t ask questions, just go.” Bloodstone kept his voice calm. Battlesun quickly gathered the kids while Battlemage took Brisa. He handed the baby to his twin sister.
“Uncle Bloodstone, I choose to stay and fight. I am strong and quick.” Battlemage knew what was coming.
“You sure?” Bloodstone was secretly grateful that Battlemage had decided to stay. He knew how good the boy was at using his magic.
Riverstar stayed put, eyes locked on the identical pair staring back at her. She was already shifting to her old Icestar form. Her wings were the first to change. Her many feathers melted into her wings as wing bones vanished while blood vessels grew and rearranged themselves into the formation of that of a flutter wing. The wing shape changed and the wing turned clear in time to see new bone grow. Battlemage watched in amazement. He and Battlesun already knew that Riverstar was Icestar. He was still amazed whenever Riverstar changed into Icestar. Riverstars long blood red mane and tail turned white while her body color lightened. Battlemage saw bones shrink and reconfigure themselves to that of a flutter pony. Her horn narrowed and lost two of its seven spirals as her raised moon symbol vanished. A single star shaped snowflake rose in its place. Finally, her skin tightened around her new form.
Sunstar lowered her head, teeth clenched as she fought the darkness surging through her. The only part of her that had not changed, her blue twinkle eyes, turned blood red. Sunstar lifted her head and laughed cruelly.
“Sunstar.” Riverstar warned, “Please, I don’t want to fight you.”
“Wimp.” a blast of dark energy sent Riverstar tumbling to the ground. Battlemage charged forward next. He showed no fear. He raised both hands into the air and focused. Sunstar didn’t give him a chance to finish his incantation. Battlemage winked out of harms way while trying to finish his incantation. He wasn’t fond of using Latin, but he was able to pronounce the words okay. The incantation finished, Battlemage timed his wink in and out carefully. His spell, he knew wouldn’t stop Sunstar, but it would cut down her power level.
Sunstar saw the spell coming and threw it off perfectly. No spell would cut her down! Spreading her wings, she leapt into the sky and trumpeted a long challenge to those below her. Riverstar shot after her sister while Battlemage followed. Bloodstone went to follow, but before he could, he felt Galaxy calling. Quickly, he went to her side.
“So, you dare challenge me!” Sunstar hissed, arching her body for an attack. Battlemage braced himself. Riverstar centered her mind. Bringing her hands together, Sunstar sent a wave of darkness rushing at her attackers.
“Grandma Sunstar!” Battlemage shot higher to avoid the wave, “Please! Snap out of it! Aunt Riverstar, how do we stop her? My spell didn’t work!”
“Sunstar is only dark because of the time of year. We need to hold her until midnight.” Riverstar blocked with an ice arrow, “I can’t keep this up for long. We need someone strong enough to hold her at bay until midnight. Go, Battlemage! Find Battlefield! He can handle her! Go!”
Battlemage didn’t need to be told twice. He arced down for the balcony of the ballroom that was now below them. He landed and took off, searching for his beloved grandfather.
“Grandpa Battlefield!” He finally found who he was looking for, “Grandma Sunstar is insane! Aunt Riverstar is fighting her! She needs you!”
Battlefield went sober in an instant. Mage burped, and winced at the odd taste in his mouth. He felt Galaxy’s call and vanished. Andromeda was next to vanish. Milky-way wanted to follow, but she knew that winking was dangerous when you were pregnant. She felt her baby moving within her body. It wouldn’t be much longer now.
“Battlefield, Go deal with Sunstar. I’ll handle the Flow.” Milky-way said, a hand on her huge stomach, “I know what needs to be done.”
“I should stay with you and make sure there are no problems.” Battlefield looked worried.
“I’m okay. Silverblade is here. Sunstar is out of control. She needs you more then I do.” Milky-way smiled.
“Are you sure?” Battlefield asked.
“Will you go?” Burning Gold joined them, “Sunfire and I got this covered. Cupid knows how to handle foal birth. He is a doctor for crying out loud. Get moving.”
Battlefield finally took off with Battlemage just behind him. Burning Gold turned to Milky-way, “Lets get you settled and ready for the birth. Sunfire and I will coach you while Cupid delivers.”
“I am more then ready. I am fast. Bryon was born under 10 minutes. Lets go. I think my water just broke.” Milky-way followed Burning Gold into another room that had been readied in case for her. Silverblade was there. He closed the door as soon as Sunfire and Cupid joined them.
“Galaxy knows already.” Sunfire explained, “She told me this was a very good thing. I’m not sure I understand why besides the fact we’re gaining a new member of the family.”
“Allow me to explain.” Milky-way settled herself on the bed, “Cupid, he isn’t going to come for another hour yet. I’m fine. The Flow is affected by all of its worlds that it nourishes. Every flap of a butterfly’s wings, every drop of rain, every thought you think, it all affects the Flow a little bit. Birth and Death are big affecters of the Flow. Death gives power to the dark side. Sometimes too much Death happens and the Flow is overwhelmed by dark power. Same goes for too many births. Right now there are too many deaths. My coming birth will help things righten themselves.” Milky-way relaxed, letting nature go to work. She was calm. Her calmness helped to keep the four ponies with her calm. If she, a Guardian of Magic, wasn’t worried, then they wouldn’t worry ether.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Battlefield charged at Sunstar. He didn’t want to hurt her but it was beginning to look like he might have to take her out. He neatly dodged a fireball and ducked as a wave of dark energy shot scant millimeters over his head. Sunstar screamed as several ice arrows bit into her flesh, Riverstar. The arrows melted quickly.
“How long until midnight?” Battlefield called.
“90 minutes!” Battlemage screamed, “I’m going in!” He raised his hands to the sky. Yellow and red lights circled down his arms as he brought them down together, “Hell’s Rolling!” several red and yellow arrows slammed into Sunstar, who shook off the attack. It left several small cuts that healed up instantly. It also brought Battlemage into her crosshairs. Roaring in rage, Sunstar shot after Battlemage. Battlefield intercepted the attack, blocking the enraged demonesses attacks with his body. Riverstar rose behind Sunstar. In her hands, she held the winged Rainbow of light. It stretched into a wand with a white snowflake on top. Rainbow wings sprouted behind the snowflake while twin ribbons of white light swirled around the shaft, turning it white from rainbow.
“Sunstar, look at me. You know what this is and what it can do.” Riverstar’s voice cracked.
“Riverstar! No! Not the Winter Rainbow! That’ll kill her!” Battlemage screamed.
“Winter Rainbow?” Battlefield had to stop and think for a minute before he remembered what it was. “Riverstar, is that wise?” he remembered the painful beating from the Winter Rainbow back when he’d snapped and gone fully demonic. Riverstar had fought him as Icestar and it was the Winter Rainbow that had slowed him down. Riverstar knew that the Winter Rainbow wouldn’t kill as it knew of the goodness inside Battlefield. Would it still recognize the goodness inside Sunstar?
“It just might cut through the darkness and save her.” Riverstar felt her eyes tear up, “If it decides she must be destroyed, then so be it. Winter Rainbow Power!” She held the Wand up. It lit up in a burst of rainbow light. The light shaped itself into that of a winged unicorn and soared toward Sunstar. It narrowed out into a blazing rainbow hued sword. Sunstar rushed at it, horn lowered. The sword looked like it would cut through Sunstar, but at the last second, it exploded. Riverstar screamed. Battlefield whipped around to her. Sunstar had her in a choke hold.
“No way! Sunstar split herself into two and destroyed the Winter Rainbow!” Battlemage screamed, “Hells Rolling!” He launched an attack at Sunstar and winked around her. Sunstar released Riverstar, who reverted back to herself and plummeted toward the ground below. Battlefield dove after Riverstar. Battlemage would have to fight on his own for a few minutes. He knew the boy could hold out. --------------------------------------------------------------
Milky-way returned to the bed. She was completely relaxed and showed no trace of fear. A contraction gripped her body. Now was the time.
“You know, I could do this on my own if I had to.” Milky-way replied, “It won’t be long now. Cupid, not yet. Let nature do her thing. I’ll need you soon. He will crown in a few more minutes.”
“Aunt Milky-way, aren’t you in pain?” Sunfire asked.
“I am fine.” Milky-way smiled.
“How is she doing this? When I was giving birth to Battle Wind, I about crushed Battlefields hand because of the pain. He was the one who said, when it hurts, squeeze my hand.” Burning Gold asked.
“I know. While giving birth to Brisa, I thought for sure I was dying.” Sunfire answered.
“I have a very high pain tolerance.” Milky-way said, “Foal birth is nothing.”
“It’s true. Her tolerance for pain is scary high. She once walked around for five days on a broken leg.” Cupid said.
“I once burned myself badly practicing my fire power. Mom freaked out. I told her, It’s okay, mommy. It doesn’t hurt that much.” Milky-way chuckled, “He is crowning.”
Cupid went to work, “I’m going to hope that’s red fur and not blood.” that got a laugh out of everyone, “Would you mind slowing down? Oh well. It’s a boy. He’s a winger like his mommy.” Cupid cleaned up the infant, “Come on, cry. He has a hard spot on his forehead. He’s going to have a horn. Cry, baby, cry.”
“Bloodstar.” Milky-way said, “Hand him to me.”
“Someone take the baby! She’s hemorrhaging badly!” Cupid handed the baby to Burning Gold who promptly began trying to resuscitate the newborn.
“It’s killing them. The evil is too strong.” Sunfire went to the window, “Mother, fight back. You have to fight back!” She knew that there was nothing she could do to help.
-------------------------------------------------
“30 minutes!” Battlemage called out to Battlefield. Riverstar had broken her fall by flying in to a landing. She was tired, but fine. She rejoined the fight.
“Sunstar!” Riverstar lit upon an idea. It was crazy, but it would work. She began absorbing moonlight. Clearing her mind, she focused her thought on Sunstar. “Sunstar, you know me. We are cousins even though we grew in the same womb. We are close. I think of you as my sister. Even though you were made in a different womb, even though you were planted by your mother into my mother, we are sisters. If that doesn’t make us sisters, I don’t know what will.” The moon dimmed as Riverstar drained it of light. Pretty soon, she was fully engulfed in moonlight. Her body changed to solid white along with her hair, which doubled its length. Her body was clothed in a simple white dress. Two new pairs of wings sprouted from her back. Her horn grew longer. Her feet stayed bare. A diamond crown, belt, and staff finished off her look.
“Who is that?” Battlemage asked.
“It’s Lunar Riverstar.” Battlefield shifted to his demonic form, “You stay back. This is going to get messy.”
“I will.” Battlemage agreed.
Riverstar opened her eyes, “Sunstar…”
Sunstar only hissed and went for Riverstar’s neck. She was shot backward by a blast of moon magic. “How long?”
“10 minutes!” Battlemage called.
“Okay, then.” Riverstar knew she couldn’t hold her powerful Lunar form that long, “Sunstar, remember who you are!” Her staff began to glow, “Moon light moon bright, light of the night,” She paused, “Forgive me, Sunstar.” a single tear formed in the corner of her eye, “Cosmic Moon Escalation!”
Pure white light blazed around Riverstar. Battlefield paled. Battlemage’s eyes were the size of saucers. The light formed into a bow with a matching arrow. Riverstar held the bow in her hands. Sighting Sunstar racing toward her, she drew the arrow back and let it fly. The light that made up the bow flowed into the arrow. It met its mark, and Sunstar howled. White light burned through her body. Sunstar screamed again. The darkness gripping her began to lose its hold.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Baby Bloodstar took his borning cry. Milky-way’s bleeding slowed down and stopped.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Five minutes!” Battlemage raced to catch Riverstar as she devolved, “I’ve got her!”
The darkness refused to back down so easily. Sunstar lashed out, her claws sinking into Battlefields shoulder. He yelped, and shook it off.
“Battlefield! you have to kill me! Hit me with your strongest attack! Please! Do it! I’m a danger to you all!” Sunstar fought through the darkness, “Please! Don’t hesitate!”
“Sunstar! No! I can’t do as you ask!” Battlefield held his injured shoulder.
“Grandma Sunstar!” Battlemage was shaking his head, “You have to hold out three more minutes!”
“I can’t! Already, I’m losing my hold!” Sunstar’s voice faded.
“I have one attack…” Battlefield hated himself at this moment.
“Can you do it with just one arm?” Battlemage asked.
“One or two arms, it doesn’t matter.” Battlefield braced himself and began to prepare his attack, “I need you to distract her.”
“I’m on it!” Battlemage took off. He pelted Sunstar’s face with a barrage of mini black fire balls. This did no harm, but it did irritate Sunstar. She opened her mouth and a stream of fire ended the next wave of fire balls. Battlefield was glowing with a dark purple aura as he locked onto Sunstar. Please forgive me for this, Sunstar…
“Now, Battlemage! Darkness Overload!” Battlefield let lose with a wave of darkness. Just as his attack struck, the clock struck midnight. Also, the Flow gleamed and faded, its dark side calm. Sunstar screamed. The Guardians all appeared, including Milky-way, who looked fresh as a daisy despite giving birth a few hours before. They circled Sunstar as above them, Lithanimus descended from the heavens.
“Sunstar! Everything is okay now!” the young god called out, “Easy, now.” He embraced her, “You don’t have to fight anymore.”
“Can you help her, Lithanimus?” Bryon spoke up.
“There isn’t much I can do. It’s not good. I can buy us some years, but we will have to decide something soon.” Lithanimus’s twin horns glowed softly, “I can not stop the process, but I can slow it down. Its okay, Sunstar. You are safe.”
“I’m scared, Lithanimus! It’s starting to get harder to keep it down!” Sunstar cried, tears flowing down her face, “Face it, I’m terminal. The darkness is going to consume me. No spell or magic will save me now. I could have infected you all!”
“I know.” Lithanimus looked thoughtful, “Dad has been working on your problem, and he said he is close to a break through. Don’t give up hope, Sunstar.”
“What is going on?” Battlefield asked as Bloodstone tended to his wounded shoulder. The guardians all looked at one another.
“Do you know what cancer is?” Lithanimus asked.
“Yes, I know what that is! Are you saying Sunstar has cancer?” Battlefield looked horrified.
“Long ago,” Mage answered, “Back during my possession, Sunstar used a powerful spell to set me free. Something went wrong. I was freed, but there was a backlash. A part of Sunstar’s soul went dark. Like cancer, it has metastasized. It is everywhere now. We can’t save her from this.”
“She’s going to die?” Battlefield asked.
“I face a fate worse then that, Battlefield. I’m immortal thanks to this thing growing through me. I’m going to become a demon.” Sunstar gave a bitter laugh, “After I save this world so many times, after all the good I’ve done, this is how fate repays me.”
“Usually we can treat and in some cases cure this. We use high doses of pure light magic which kills the darkness. With Sunstar, we can’t do that. She is half light and half darkness. Dousing her in pure light will only progress her ailment. Pure darkness will only worsen her, and we can’t mix potent magics like that.” Galaxy explained, “Deathstar is working on Sunstar’s problem. He thinks he might be close to a breakthrough. The hard thing about this is, there is nothing that can be done.”
“Sunstar, is this true?” Battlefield asked.
“I wish it wasn’t true, but it is. I’m okay now.” Sunstar took flight under her own power, “You still have many years with me yet.” She smiled, “Cheer up! It’s not like I’m going to turn tomorrow!”
“We celestials are working on a plan to counter Sunstar the day she makes that final change. Who knows, may be dad will find the cure for this and save her.” Lithanimus added.
“I am fine until next Halloween. Next year, lock me in a metal box or something first before the change so this doesn’t happen again. I’m beat. Let’s return to Castle Riverfalls. Bryon and I would like to meet our new baby brother.” Sunstar smiled.
“Oh yes, Bloodstar. Easy birth.” Milky-Way took the lead, “He is a butterfly winged unicorn. Hopefully, when he comes into his magic, it won’t be like Bryon. Bryon is lucky his dad can fly.”
“I apparently winked my father outside our bedroom window, which overlooks a cliff.” Bryon said, “He was not happy about that. After that, when my parents tried to get close to me, I would wink them away.”
“I got smart and cast an anti-winking field around our cabin.” Milky-way landed and led them to the room where she had given birth, “Here he is.”

I'm exicted to see the third and final part of this story. Although it ended on a bitter note with the revelation of Sunstar's cancer. I'm intrigued about that cure Deathstar's working on. I'd like to see whether it works or not.
I see Battlemage has his own attack-"Hell's Rolling."
We finally see Bloodstar's birth.
All in all, a good story.

I can see that. Ever since I read the first chapter of Tambelon, I've been wondering about what had happened to the Guardians and celestials after she was trapped in Tambelon.
