I'll go first.
I was writing Conversion, a fanfiction novel set in the Transformers Universe. To understand the scene, here is some background. During the final battle on Gobotron, Cy-Kill managed to severely injure Leader-1 just before Leader-1 forced him offline. Leader-1 was left paralyzed from the chest down. This left him unable to handle his duties as the Key to the Engine of Life. The Engine breaks down, dooming all life unless a new Key is forged. Optimus Prime agrees to undergo the trials and be reforged as the new Key. Leader-1 knows that he is dying. Optimus becomes the new Key, Leader-1dies because two Keys can't exist at once. Optimus doesn't go, all life ceases to be with Leader-1 being the first to die. The scene itself begins in Starscreams office. Starscream is a psychologist. Both Matt and Leader-1 meet with him. Starscream gets the ball rolling and within moments Leader-1 and Matt start arguing over Leader-1's coming death. This scene gave me trouble as psychology is not easy to write, and I had to get into the heads of two different characters.
My next difficult scene takes place in Stricken, a pokemon fanfiction. Ash is stricken by a deadly virus, and Pikachu is desperate to save him. Pikachu finds Arceus and begs the Creator to save Ash. Arceus takes Pikachu on a little trip through the ICU after saying his hooves are tied. He shows Pikachu a little girl sick with the flu and says the girls parents are praying that he save their girl. He goes on to say during the night, the girls body will rally and defeat the virus. Her parents will believe he spared their daughter when in reality, he did nothing. In another room, Pikachu sees an old man dying. Arceus explains that he can hear the old mans loved ones praying that he will bring the mans end quickly. That old man will die in two hours once his body fails. His loved ones will believe Arceus brought the end when again, in reality, Arceus has done nothing. The third room contains Ash, which Arceus explains he can not see what lays ahead for Ash. All he sees is a dark void. Arceus explains that he believes the void to be there because he is Ash's father, and no father can heal their child, not even Pokemon fathers. Pikachu understands.
What about you? What was the hardest scene you had to write?
