Battle of the Bands is one of my all time favorite "Tales" episodes. This is the first time we see Melody's band "The Rocking Beats" and hear an awesome song "Sweet Music". So here is:


"Battle of the Bands" review:


The episode opens up as Melody makes a song for her band. Her twin sisters show her a battle of the band commercial. If Melody can get a babysitter she can go.

They start practicing their song "Sweet Music" which starts out too slow but then they get it to where its faster. I love this song . Its the night of the battle of the bands and there's no babysitter.

Yeah she forgot the babysitter. Everyone is busy especially Bon-Bon who is grounded. Melody goes to get the door and apologizes to her band and they leave without her.

At the Battle of the Bands everyone does great and Melody goes there with the twins. Melody arrives and the twins get into trouble. The Rocking Beats are next but the twins are still causing trouble so Melody goes to get them.

They're nothing without Melody. Melody finds them and chases after them. She finally gets them and they head to the stage in style just in time to finish the song. Even with background vocals by the twins. Their a hit.

Later her mom finds out about what happened that night after they promise not to tell. She learns her lesson and the twins want Melody instead of a babysitter to end the episode.


Good Points:


-The whole episode. It was great.
-"Sweet Music" is an awesome song.


Good episode. 10/10. Next up is the "And the winner is..." review. Don't forget tomorrow is my "A Very Minty Christmas" Christmas review .

Well I picked up my little pony tales on DVD so starting back tonight I'll continue my reviews.

"And The Winner is" review:

As our episode opens there's something on the tv. Its "PTV" and they are about to announce the winner of the tickets to a concert.

Or so we think. See its a dream sequence. Clover is awakened by her mom. She overslept. The "Cleveland Bays" are a group.

At school they wait for the drawing. When they get to Clover's house they find out it is Clover just like her dream. There's one problem. They all want to go too.

You know. I like Sweetheart. She lives up to her name. Anyway Clover feels bad and later she gets the tickets in the mail. Again problem is there's only two tickets.

This brings us into "The Choice" which is sang by Clover. See here's her problem. She can't always make up her mind. This is the episode I was talking about when I reviewed "The Ticket Master"

So since Clover is so nice she invites everyone. Oh boy. Also Sweetheart acts just like Fluttershy did..... or its the other way around. Problem. That's very nice of you Clover.

Another drawing to see who goes and Clover's dad is drawing them. Melody gets the first and Clover gets the other.

We see the concert as they arrive but Clover feels bad the others didn't get to come and so does Melody.

The others watch the concert and are given a surprise visit by Clover and Melody who has pizza which they traded as they watch the concert to end the episode. Good ending.

Good points:

-They all figured out the solution in the end.
-"The Choice" was a good song.

Bad Point:

-Clover's indecisiveness almost cost her.


Good episode. 9.5/10. Next up is "Stand By Me" And I love that episode .

This next episode is another one my favorite episodes because it teaches you not to jump to conclusions. Also I like the way Teddy acts all tough but when it comes to Sweetheart he's nice (Sometimes). Anyway without further ado:

"Stand by Me" review:

The episode opens up with Melody showing off her new tape player and she destroys a tape. Yeah that's not funny Teddy. That probably was expensive.

Great Teddy you messed it up more. Sweetheart is right though he did try. Wow acting all tough as always Teddy. Mr. Tidwall is so nice. School time. Also someone picked up the tape player.

Ooh courtroom procedures. Melody's tape player is gone and they suspect Teddy he even has a piece of the tape on his hoof. Good time to learn about courtroom procedures here. Starlight is the judge. Bright Eyes is the prosecutor. Sweetheart steps up to defend him.

Also during my review I'm gonna go all "Phoenix Wright" when they try and defend what they believe. So expect some "OBJECTIONS" and "Hold it!" during these next parts.

If Teddy is found guilty he'll be suspended from school for three days. Good luck Teddy. The trial is the next day. Sweetheart asks him to tell her everything. Heh. Teddy she's right.

At the shoppe Sweetheart tries and defend Teddy. Cold Melody very cold. Wow guys. She's still defending him like a good friend .

Pony's court is now in session. Clover and Bon-Bon take the stand. "OBJECTION!" Saying he's so mean is a conflict of interest. He may act that way but sometimes he can be nice. Just ask Sweetheart. Perfectly put Sweetheart. That is speculation.

She sings "You don't know the boy" along with the rest as she tries to defend him. Yeah he can be selfish, stubborn and brash but that's no need to accuse him of stealing. He may act rough and tough but hey the guy has a reputation to uphold.

Anyway they tell her to ask Teddy to the stand. He states his case but they still accuse him. Sweetheart wants to call a surprise witness. Mr. Tidwell. And guess what he found? Melody's tape player.

Teddy is innocent and Sweetheart learns that she needs to stand up for what she believes in and Melody learned she shouldn't jump to conclusions. Teddy learned he does need help. But still thinks he doesn't need help all the time which he does as we see to end the episode.


Good Points:


-Sweetheart showing that she knows he isn't mean all the time was nice.
-"You don't know the boy" was a good song (But it had something I didn't like which we'll get to in a second)
-The trial was a great idea to learn about courtroom proceedings even if the others did wrongfully accuse Teddy.


Bad Points:


-The fact the ponies kept blaming Teddy was just plain wrong. I get it. He is mean sometimes but that's no reason to accuse him.
-"You don't know the boy" was great but hearing the others accuse him was sad.

Above all not a bad episode. 9.5/10. Next up is "The tea party" review.
