MLP Comic #61: Happy New Year!
Stories:
Locket the Ponynaut
Pony Personality Page: Princess Pearl (yeesh, how's that for alliteration?)
Pony Personality Page: Princess Aquamarine
The Mermaid's Necklace
'Twas the Night Before New Year . . .
Well, I mostly chose this one for the Ponynaut story, complete with Locket's Star Trek reference! (Which show is her favorite, I wonder? I see her as a classic Trek fan, myself.) But this is a pretty jam-packed issue in any case. I'm consistently amazed at the number of stories they manage to squash into these comics.
And these are certainly some odd stories, in the best tradition of MLP comics! Okay, first we have Ponies . . . In . . . SPAAAACE! The Man in the Moon is a recurring character in the comics, though I think this is the first time I've uploaded a comic featuring him. Silver rivers on the moon is something new, though. I really like the way they drew / colored in the moonscape.
"Let's take a moonlight dip with our clothes on," giggled Locket.
I suppose for a species that's normally nude, this would be the equivalent of skinny dipping. Then Cancer the crab turns up. Oh pony comics. I never know what to expect from you.
Previously I'd been skipping over non-MLP / non-Hasbro advertisements, but I thought I'd include them this time. (Well, not really "them", there was only one.) It's . . . for . . . a . . . soft drink? I . . . I can't even tell . . . What's going on, the room is spinning . . .
Wow, those snowflakes in the Mermaid Necklace story are distracting. And surprisingly regularly spaced, for snowflakes. My favorite part about this story is that an octopus is wrestling with a weeping willow tree.
