Can my OC character thread be split?

Dear moderators,
I wanted to know if you could help me with something. I am currently working on an OC called Father Crucifix and his introduction is on the Brainstorm section. mlplexicon.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=brainstorming&action=display&thread=1486 That was good until I wrote his "brief" history starting with "Father Crucifix III." I got carried away and its ready to become its own fanfic.
Could you split it into two threads, one remains pure brainstorm and the other is just the fanfic? I'm pretty sure that I could start a new thread myself, just copy and paste the parts where I tell the story but is that proper etiquette?
