I think Twilight gave everyone but Spike magic charms that let them be underwater without gear. Apparently they don't work on dragons.
I had been hearing about this book for a while. Good to see the aquatic equines return in some form.

I admit, G1 seaponies scared me a little bit. Their song was anoying. At least the G4 seaponies actually look like they belong in the sea.
