and here she is! I know, the lines look shaky. I was undergoing my third to last chemo treatment when I drew her. I had my last one this morning, so to celebrate, here she is!
Marine is in my story, The Hidden War. She was abandoned by her parents at an orphanage because she doesn't have a symbol. She was named Marine by the head lady at the orphanage. She was then adopted when she turned four by a stallion and his wife.
Equinova in Marine’s time is very different. Alicorns are considered royalty. To be born an Alicorn, it is considered the greatest gift from the Mother Goddess, Vitality. Unicorns are considered blessed, and Pegasi are highly thought of. The Earthling is considered the slave. Marine lives in the Time of the Four, when Equinova is governed by the four Princesses. Princess Emerald Spade is an alicorn with a raised emerald symbol in the shape of a spade. Princess Diamond Heart is an Unicorn with a raised diamond heart symbol. Princess Sapphire Clubs is a Pegasus with a sapphire club symbol. Princess Ruby Diamond is an earthling with a raised ruby diamond symbol. Before Ruby Diamond’s birth, Earthlings were scorned and hunted to near extinction. Ruby Diamond is considered a sign from Vitality that earthlings must be allowed to live. Hunting earthlings became illegal and they are now treated as slaves.
To be born without a symbol is a great sin. Earthlings are all without symbols and it means your line isn’t pure. To be born as a Pegasus without a symbol means a life of slavery with your wings plucked so you can’t fly. A unicorn without a symbol is unheard of. The Unicorn can create their own symbol with magic to hide the sin. To be born an Alicorn without a symbol, well, Marine is the first. If Marine had been born a Pegasus or an earthling, she would be living in slavery. If she had been born a unicorn, she would be able to hide the sin. Marine doesn’t have powers nor can she use magic which led to her being abandoned at an orphanage.

I like her color scheme. ^_^ Especially her hair and how her wings are darker than the rest of her body.
