Hello, I'm a mle MLP fan who writes fanfic, and I was invited over to this board by lady moonsdancer. It's nice to meet you all.
I consider myself a big brother pony instead of a Brony, because of my history with MLP. when I was little, I inherited my older female cousin's MLP VHS tape collection of the two specials and the entire original series. One viewing of 'rescue at midnight castle' and I was hooked.
I loved Firefly and her tomboyish attitude, I loved Wind Whistler and her spock-like logic, I loved Gusty and her bravery, and North Star and her whole 'explorer' thing. At age nine, I always envied Danny for getting to go to an enchanted land with talking ponies and a cool pet dragon, and help fight monsters like Tirek and the Lava Demon king Levan. I even inherited my cousin's old Queen Majesty toy and Dream Castle playset. (Okay, I wanted it to use it to put my he-man figures in since mom wouldn't get me a castle grayskull, but still...)
As I got older, however, I forgot about ponyland... until a year ago when the whole brony thing infected my college D&D group. I watched a few episode of FiM and thought it was cool, but whenever I brought up the old show to them, I got mocked. I had to carry out a battle to get them to sit down and watch midnight castle... which all the way though I got to listen to "AGH! My eyes! Kill it with friendship!" they won't even touch Quest of the princess ponies or the tambleon episode.
It was at that point I realized something about bronies; I'm not one of them, I'll never be one of them. So a Big brother pony of the G1 herd has come seeking refuge amongst his own kind. Here's to a ponyland where the Ponies will kill thier enimes if they can't make friends with them, and Darkness and Beauty go hand in hand!
Thank you, and I look forward to the oppurnity to post my MLP stories!
