We have topic about the Core 7, the ponies' genetic so I think that we need a topic apout Ponyland's climate too.
In this topic I mean G1 and G3 MLP Areas and I wait your opinian about those areas weather under Ponyland.
Ponyville: The most intrestin are is Ponyville, from the few information we got from the different G3 movies I think that Ponyville lies between a mountain and the ocean, but it's climate seems to be dry continental insted oceanic, it has four seasons and real winter too.
Unicornia: I don't know well Unicornia's climate, but it should be same as it can be in a mountain.
Breezy Blossom: It seems to be a big garden which remembers me a bit to Flutter Valley, I don't know it's climate but I belive it should be the same as Ponyville's since it's not too far fom it.
Butterfly Island: It's a tropical island whit a tropical climate as it need be.
Dream Valley: It's veather is Continental as it need be.
Flutter Valley: I don't know what kind of climate is in Flutter Valley, but I know that there are no any winter there because the Sunstone keep it warm all year.

O mai, moar universe building :3
Well...
Generally, the climate on Luxarell is...well... For summer, go to Croatia if you're near the Edge and proceed to England for areas near the centre. For winter, imagine a Baltic State autumn for the Outer parts and a Russian Winter the closer to the centre you are. Unless you're in the very middle. In which case, SIBERIA SIBERIA SIBERIA. Of course, there are a few macrocosms, like the equivalents of Butterfly Island and Flutter Valley, but the're exceptions. And there's the odd weather phenomena that are so frigging regular, people time their clocks by them.
I'll write more about this later, it's past my bedtime and I'm tired.

Well, I actually have a hard time figuring out Ponyland's general climate because there isn't a proper MAP of the place. It'd be a lot easier to figure out this sort of thing if I knew where the equator was and if there were any deserts and mountains and rainshadows and ocean currents and whatnot. Yes, I like to get specific about this sort of thing. No, I'm not a meteorologist and therefore any climate I'd come up with would probably have a number of faults anyway. But hey, I at least like to have guidelines. Dream Valley and Ponyville have your generic four seasons and the generic climates that go with each. Dream Valley is a valley and thus surrounded by mountains, obviously, and I presume that on the other side of those mountains, in the rainshadow, would be the Royal Paradise and the Jewel Desert. Flutter Valley's climate is really weird cuz they've got their special magical Sunstone to keep things bright and sunny all year and keep the flowers growing. This is probably good for the Flutter Ponies...maybe they have to drink their weight in nectar every day. Or something. Unicornia is in the mountains, so things get cooler up there--especially in winter, when there'd be some crazy blizzards. Breezy Blossom is apparently close to Ponyville. So same climate there. Butterfly Island is a tropical island that's near the equator. Hot n' sunny ALL THE TIME. Except for monsoon season, when the sky turns cloudy and everything floods. That's pretty much all I've ever been able to come up with. I'm interested to see other people's takes on it, though. Also, I'm moving this over to the Brainstorming forum.

Butterfly Island = Anywhere That Gets Monsoons/Tropical Storms/Hurricanes/A Rainy Season, really. Indonesia is as good a place as any. XD

To describe the climate of my ponyland, I'll start with Riverfalls, which is on the western flank of the country called Equinova, which is what I call ponyland. Riverfalls is the bread basket of the country, being mostly fertile farmland. it has gentle summers and mild winters. Next, we cross the Blackhill Mountain Range where the White Clan resides. the Blackhills are known for extreme weather that can change in minutes from a calm sunny day to a howling blizzard. next, we've got a diverse land of extremes. first up is the Jewel Desert, which sits up in the far north. it is a place of extreme cold. those that live here thrive underground. surface temperatures can drop as low as -300 degrees fahrenheit, leaving the ponies that call this place home trapped below ground for months at a time. Jewel Desert goes through what is called the summer thaw every summer where temps get up to 55 degrees fahrenheit. It is also the only time things grow here. Jewel Desert borders the Badlands to the south. the Badlands are a stretch of red desert. It is the opposite of the frozen Jewel Desert. those that thrive here have thin coats that help keep them cool in the desert heat. Further south, we come up to Dream Valley, which has cold winters followed by hot summers. Dream Valley doesn't get a lot of rain because it sits between two mountian ranges. the Mountians to the east, the Silverlock Mountain Range, is smaller then the huge Blackhill Range. They don't have the extreme weather the Blackhills have, and those that call it home have evolved paws with shovel like claws for digging since they thrive underground. next, we come to the Flutter Valley Wasteland. this is a desert. It used to be a fertile river valley until the Sunstone was tainted with evil, which killed everything while some Flutters managed to escape the horror of their burning home. here, temps can soar up to the thosands during the day and even at night. no one can thrive here. finally, we come to the Shadowlands. here, everything is bathed in perpentual twilight because of the massive arm of the Blackhills that casts it into shadow. not much sun reaches this land. Temps are what you'd find in the fall, 30 to 50 degrees fahrenhiet. the ponies here have thick coats that keep them warm. in the Blackhill Range is a city called Mountianhigh. Here, the ponies went down a different evoloutionary path. both sexes have fur lined feet and two layer coats. one coat is a thick undercoat while the top coat is thin. plus, their hooves are longer then what you would find in other places which makes it easier to walk in the snow. these ponies are small and have jewel eyes designed to help them see during sunny snowy days.
