I decided to dust off my old crossover and share it here.
Main Characters
Rodimus Prime: Current Prime of Cybertron, Rodimus leads all Transformers with a firm yet gentle hand. He is young and a bit of a hothead. He cares deeply for his people. When he became Prime, Rodimus got thrust into parenthood too. He is the legal guardian of Altima Prime.
Altima Prime: Daughter of Optimus and Elita, Altima lost her mother to Megatron in a brutal rape and murder which she witnessed when she was just five years old. Optimus raised her on his own until a violent illness took his life when Altima was 12 years old. Altima is 13 years old now. She is loved by her people and is best friends with Optimus Minor. After losing her father, Altima did not allow herself to grieve because she knew her father did not want her to be sad. She had to be strong for her uncle, Ultra Magnus, and help him through his grief. Rodimus got worried about her and put her in therapy with Starscream.
Optimus Minor: Son of Optimus Primal (Now Leo Convoy) by Sunstrike and big brother to Leo Junior, Minor is the future Regent of the Maximals and will someday serve Rodimus and later Altima as his father served Optimus for so long. Minor is already showing the skills he will need to become a good Regent. He and Altima are best friends, having known each other since the time they were in diapers.
Optimus Primal/Leo Convoy: Regent of the Maximals, Optimus Primal was seriously injured during the war. his injuries left him paralyzed from the neck down. He decided to allow himself to be rebuilt into Leo Convoy. Leo serves under Rodimus and his calm levelheadedness helps to tame Rodimus's hotheadedness.
Leader-1: Leader-1 is a high protector of Gobotron. He was found drifting in space with terrible injuries. He spent 8 weeks in a coma while his body healed. When he woke from his coma, he had no memory of his past other then his name, and what he is. The only thing that is familiar to him is the Matrix carried by Rodimus. He starts having bad nightmares about what happened to him. These are just nightmares, nothing more, right? Rodimus realizes Leader-1's nightmares are memories. Leader-1 must remember what happened to him. It may be the only way to stop the darkness at Heaven's Edge.
Minor Characters
First-Aid: First-Aid loves her big spacious medical bay inside Autobot City. She treats each of her patients with tender love and care. Her greatest joy is watching her patients recover under her expert touch. Her lifemate is Blitzwing. She is apart of a team called the Protectabots. Her team leader is Hotspot.
Blitzwing: Blitzwing is a triple changer. He served Megatron during the war until he witnessed Optimus throw himself in the path of a bomb to protect a group of civilians, one of them being First Aid. He knew that Megatron would never do something like that. He met First Aid and was smitten by her as he watched her tend to Optimus's wounds from the blast. They met secretly and fell in love. Blitzwing broke ties with Megatron and became an Autobot so he could serve Optimus and be with First Aid. They became Lifemates and Blitzwing followed his dream and became a Physical Therapist.
Matt Hunter: An astronaunt with UNECOM, Matt is best friends with Leader-1, and is often his pilot in battle. Matt finds out about Leader-1 from Spike and heads to Autobot City with Nick, AJ, and Smallfoot to confirm that the robot is in fact Leader-1. Matt refuses to leave his friend and he and Smallfoot stay close by in guest quarters so they can be there for Leader-1.
Nick Burns: Nick is a cadet at UNECOM, along with AJ. He learned about Leader-1 from Matt and was the one who broke the news to AJ and Smallfoot. He had to return to UNECOM with AJ because they couldn't afford to miss any classes. They did get to ride inside Rodimus, who was heading over to UNECOM for an important meeting. Nick made Matt promise to keep him and AJ updated.
Alison Janmoria "A.J." Foster: AJ is a cadet at UNECOM along with Nick. She did not want to leave Leader-1's side and was willing to get kicked out of the Cadet Program at UNECOM for purposely missing classes until Rodimus revealed that he knew what she was feeling on the ride back to UNECOM. She learns about Optimus and what happened to him from Rodimus. AJ is able to find a friend in Rodimus.
Smallfoot: A small red female Gobot Guardian, she is the only Guardian working at UNECOM. After Gobotron goes silent, she fears she is the only Gobot left until Nick breaks the news that Leader-1 was found in terrible condition. Smallfoot rushes to Autobot City, taking AJ, Nick, and Matt with her. She stayed with Matt in Autobot City, watching over her leader while he remained deep within his coma. Smallfoot found friends in First Aid and Blitzwing, and forms a close bond with Ultra Magnus.
Ultra Magnus: Regent of Autobot City and master of Metroplix, Magnus has never really healed from losing Optimus. He and Optimus were twins. Magnus feels like he is missing something he knows that will never be filled again. He was the first one to know when Optimus died because he felt every second of it. Magnus had to be sedated shortly afterword in order to get him to calm down. He still takes antidepressents in order to make it through each day. His only bright spot is Altima, and without her, he is sure he would have become suicidal. Starscream had him admitted to his hospital and put on suicide watch.
Starscream: While still a Decepticon, Starscream is the leader of the Decepticon Stealth Unit under Rodimus. He has Megatron locked safely in solitary confinement inside his hospital. He was forced to perform a lobotomy on Megatron, which left him catonic. Starscream is one of the best psychologists around. He was Optimus's little secret during the war. Starscream is a really good actor. He worked his way into second in command and carefully worked Megatron into a mental breakdown and revealed where his loyalties really lay. Starscream helps Leader-1 unlock his memories and provides treatment to him.
Spike Witwicky-Prime: Human liason between Earth and Cybertron, Spike was only 13 when the tornadoes came and laid waste to his hometown. Spike was the sole survivor. Optimus took him in and later became his legal guardian. Spike kept his last name but added Prime to the end of it. Spike gained a father and a little sister in Optimus and Altima. Three years later, Optimus got sick and died. Spike took the death hard. Optimus was the only father he ever really knew. He has accepted Rodimus as his new legal guardian. He still keeps Prime in his name.
Unicron: Primordial force of destruction, Unicron's purpose is to devour dead worlds to make way for new planets. He is not the Unicron Rodimus destroyed. That was a construct made in his likeness, nothing more. Unicron is not an evil bad guy, someone has to use the power of darkness and darkness does not have to be bad. He has worked hard to undo the damage to his reputation caused by the construct. Without him, the Universe would become overcrowded. Unicron is the Gaurdian of Heavens Edge, a place where time and gravity have ceased to exist. Life is kept in a kind of limbo where no one ages, there is no new ideas, and every day is the same. Heaven's Edge is the save file of the Universe.
The Story
A badly garbled distress signal is picked up by the Lost Light. The only part of the signal that makes sense is the cordinates. Rodimus orders the ship to change course. Rushing to the cordinates, they find a large field of debris. They almost miss a faint life sign. drifting in the debris field is the shattered remains of Leader-1. First Aid is amazed that Leader-1 is still alive. She and Rodimus head out to collect Leader-1.
Inside the Lost Light's tiny med bay, First Aid works to stablize her patients condition. She is the first to realize that Leader-1 is not a transformer, even through he can transform. She notices a strange reddish fluid seeping from many of Leader-1's wounds. Probbing further, she realizes she is seeing blood, and organic material inside Leader-1.
Rodimus is shocked. He isn't sure of what to make of this organic robot that can transform. First Aid tells him that Leader-1 is not a transformer. Rodimus decides to consult the Matrix. Within the Matrix, he meets Optimus, who tells him about Gobotron, a world created by Primus so he could study evolution. The Gobots were once fully organic beings similar to humans. They suffered through a terrible war, and Gobotron was hit by an asteroid that destroyed part of Gobotron. To save their world from falling into the sun, they had to blow out the other side of the planet, giving it its current shape of an apple core. He learns that Leader-1 is a Gobot.
Rodimus leaves the Matrix and is told that Unicron has appeared near the Earth, wishing only to speak to him. Rodimus tests Unicron to make sure its not another construct. Unicron proves that he is the real one by devouring an asteroid that was threatening the Earth. Unicron can not devour a living world, or watch a living world die. He takes Rodimus to Heaven's Edge. Rodimus sees that those living there are contorted as if in extreme agony. Unicron tells him that Heaven's Edge is corrupted. The corruption is spreading and if it is left unchecked, it will spread until it covers the entire Universe. There is a failsafe if Heavens Edge became corrupted. Somewhere in the Universe, there is a key. The Key is a living being with the power to restore Heavens Edge, and save the Universe into Heaven's Edge.
After returning, Rodimus meets Smallfoot, Matt, Nick, and AJ. He learns who the organic robot he helped to save is. He takes Nick and AJ back to UNECOM, where he has a meeting. Along the way, he comforts AJ.
Leader-1 awakens at last from his coma. It becomes clear that he has no memory of his life other then his name, and what he is. He does not recognize Smallfoot or Matt, nor AJ and Nick.
Smallfoot and Ultra Magnus are dispatched by Rodimus when a new distress signal is picked up coming from Greenland. Omega flies them there and Smallfoot recognizes the signal coming from a Command Center in the ice. Omega melts the ice with his thrusters, freeing the ship. Inside the ship is Turbo, Scooter, Sparky, Pathfinder, Van Gaurd, and Zeemon. Omega flies them all back to Autobot City and tows the Command Center behind him. Smallfoot reveals what happened to Leader-1. Turbo and Scooter both demand to be taken to Leader-1 at once. First Aid refuses to let them see him because he is asleep and she does not want to disturb him. He needs to rest. She does take them to the window of his room. Turbo is saddened by what he sees.
Rodimus has a vision from the Matrix. He sees the Key, and realizes that its Leader-1. He learns that Leader-1 has no memory of his past. Rodimus vows to do everything he can to help Leader-1 remember his past, and what he is.
