So I have this holiday RP idea...

So I've had this idea for an RP for about a year now. I was debating doing it over either November (for Thanksgiving) or December (for Christmas). I think I'll go with December, should enough people be interested, cuz it's almost November anyway and I know some folks are focusing on NaNoWriMo and there's also the fact that not everyone here is American and thus wouldn't celebrate Thanksgiving at the same time I do, if at all.
So here's the basic plot: It's Christmas eve/day at the Paradise Estate. The characters are a family--they're all related to each other, be it through blood or marriage--and they're all coming together to have the annual family holiday celebration.
The idea is that, well, this is a family. A crazy, somewhat dysfunctional, loving, silly family. You know how you get together for the holidays with your family, some of whom you haven't seen in ages, and you're laughing over Uncle Al's latest shenanigans and wondering why Great-Aunt Sara dresses like that and ignoring Grandpa Bob as he babbles about the Good Old Days to whoever'll listen and people are gossiping about Cousin Ed's college life and wondering why Cousin Laura turned into such a brat when she became a teenager and congratulating Uncle Steve and Aunt Kari on their new baby and the whole time Great-Uncle George is running around with his camera snapping photos and Aunt Karla gets in a fight with Cousin Fred over something stupid and then Cousin Will brings his girlfriend Katie along to introduce her to the family and meanwhile all the little kids are running around stealing candy from the candy dishes and demanding when it's time to open presents. You know what I'm talking about?
So the idea is that the characters--all these family members--are getting into all sorts of shenanigans and having all sorts of fun during the day-long Christmas celebration, interacting with each other, stuff like that. Events could include but are certainly not limited to:
Trying to sneak food from the kitchen
Christmas caroling
Chestnut-roasting
Trying to figure out what your presents are
Christmas dinner
Opening presents
Playing outside/snowball fight/snowman-building
Baking Christmas cookies
...And whatever other traditional holiday activities there are. Of course, improvisation is definitely encouraged, so if someone suddenly decides to do something like hang mistletoe somewhere and wait for unsuspecting victims to come along, that's good too. XD
The RP would have a scheduled running time, of course--probably starting sometime after Thanksgiving, to give us more time, and going either until just before Christmas or the end of December, depending on the circumstances. The start would be marked by the family convening on the location--be it walking down the hall from their quarters or coming through the Estate gates after traveling from wherever home is. The ending would be marked by the family settling down to Christmas Dinner. Anything that happens between those two points, however, is fair game.
So, would anyone be interested in anything like that? I think it'd be a fun exercise in creativity, character-interaction, and small-time plots. I really do think it'd be a lot of fun, but I'd like to know if anyone else is interested before posting it. ^_^
