With Equestria Girls about a month from limited release in theaters, I've been been mulling over what a proper MLP cinematic feature would be. You know, one that has actual ponies in it. I've considered sending a query letter to Hasbro about the prospect. If they're willing to throw Equestria Girls on the big screen, they might be open to a new MLP movie.
However, I want to poll fans about what would get them into theaters. So here are some questions. -Would you want to see a Friendship is Magic movie or a movie starring a new set of ponies? -Would you want the bad guy(s) to by a Friendship is Magic villain like Sombra or the changelings, a rework of an older villain like Grogar or Lavan, or a new villain never before seen in MLP? -Would you want humans to appear in this? If yes, do the ponies go to the human world (and remain ponies) or do the humans end up in the ponies' world?
Those are the general questions. What's your answer?

Here is a synopsis of what I would like to see.
Twilight Sparkle reads about an ancient enemy so powerful that the Elements of Harmony are ineffective in heir current state against it. It took the sacrifice of an ancient guardian of magic to create an opening for the elements to cause some damage. Unable to defeat it, the Elements sealed it away.
Alicorn Twilight finds the book she had read as a filly. At the same time, Celestia and Luna are frantically trying to get the castle clean and ready for the arrival of their father. (Tall, muscular, black alicorn named Bryon, voiced by Peter Cullen). Neither Princess has time to talk to Twilight, so Twilight visits Discord, who becomes worried. He tries to get through to Celestia about the danger. Celestia listens and decides to worry about the enemy later. Bryon arrives. The enemy reveals itself and attacks. Bryon defends against the attack. He refuses to let history repeat itself, swearing that no one else will fall before the monster. Celestia and Luna enter battle while Twilight gathrs the Elements. The Elements fail against the monster, who shatters the elements and Twilight's wings. Just as all hope is lost, Discord arrives. Discord causes a distration and heads to Twilight. He tells her hope is not lost. Bryon decides to unleash his most powerful attack, but it will mean his sacrifice. Celestia begs him not to do it. Twilight laments that the Elements are gone. Bryon overhears and reveals that the elements are not gone. Twilight does not need wings or a crown to tell her she is magic. The element has been inside her all along. Pinkie says she does not feel like laughing right now, but it does not mean her element is gone. there will be time later for laughing. Laughter can be serious when she needs to be. Rainbow says that she will always stand by her friends. No necklace needs to remind her of that. Fluttershy says Kindness is everywhere, not inside a piece of jewelry. Applejack adds that honesty is everywhere much like kindness. No necklace needs to tell he that. Rarity explains that generosity is a choice. She doesn't need a necklae to show generosity. They all begin to glow as Twilight realizes Magic has been with her all along. Bryon reveals that to defeat the monster, Harmony and Chaos must flow as one. Discord and he Elements must direct their energy at him so he can unify the magic. Together, Discord and the Elements attack Bryon who fuses the energy together, revealing the ledgendary Strike of Perfect Harmony, once known as the Strike of the Seven Guardians. The attack rips through the monster, and a bright light lights up from inside it. Out steps Sunstar, mother of Celestia and Luna. Sunstar turns, saying the fight is not over yet. She glows brightly, and a giant transparent golden Alicorn stands over Canterlot. The monster rises to challenge, but it is taken away by the golden Alicorn to a place where they can battle without harm to the ponies or the environment. Bryon reveals that Sunstar is taking the monster back to the place where it all began, the ruin of Dream Valley, Equinova.

That's something I'd like to see animated. My only complaint them all saying they don't need the necklaces sounds a little tedious. I don't like when everyone in the group has to essentially say the same thing. (I also think Twilight losing her wings wouldn't fly, no pun intended.) Other than that, it sounds like it would be awesome. I just wonder if there would be enough there to make a 90-120 minute movie without padding things out.
You should ask Hasbro if they'd be interested in trademarking Sunstar. It seems like they have an affinity for alicorns at the moment.
Anyway, this is the current idea I had.
A brutal race called gadgapes (in case gizmonks isn't allowed) had discovered the ability to travel to other realities of the same planets. They used this to travel to other realities and plunder them for resources. They have developed the ability to manipulate electricity with their minds, so they can literally turn a reality's technology against its inhabitants. They have done this time and again: taking over a reality, eradicating or enslaving the native population, and stripping mining the planet to fuel their industry of meaningless inventions.
One of these realities was populated by colorful ponies. The gadgapes enslaved them and considered them primitive since they had little in the way of technology. However, these ponies are very intelligent and secretly learned about the technology the gadgapes used. A small group of ponies eventually built their own reality bridging device and use it to escape into another reality.
I'm currently going off of G1 names, but I suspect Hasbro would object. So, these might be place holders.
Galaxy comes to in a planetarium and a little girl petting her mane. When the girl's mother and others notice her, they panic (especially when she talks) and run out of the planetarium which was showing a movie on extraterrestrial life.
The other ponies come to across across the Cranbrook Institute north of Detroit (I might as well try to help the local economy with this and I know the area.) This sends everyone into a panic and animal control is called in along with the Air Force. The ponies try to elude capture as best they can, but are eventually trapped and captured. They're taken to Selfridge Air Force base.
Wind Whistler, Fizzy, and Sundance manage to elude capture until the humans figure all the ponies have been captured. They make their way to the stables where a girl named Megan is saying good bye to her horse T.J. for the night. She finds them but doesn't freak out as much as others had. She had heard about the commotion they had caused and was hoping to meet them. She loves horses and the thought of talking ponies was wonderful. She agrees to help them save the others.
A sudden rainstorm gives Megan an idea of how to get the three ponies out of Cranbrook and to her house. She dresses them in raingear for large dogs (including boots to hide that they have hooves) and puts leashes on them. They pretend to be dogs out for a walk in the rain until they get to Megan's house.
At her home, they explain where they came from. However, this is interrupted by the arrival of her parents and younger siblings. To be continued later.

Thanks.
Megan quickly hides Wind Whistler, Fizzy, and Sundance on the roof over her bedroom. She tried to act natural as her father comes in and asks about her day. He's an Air Force colonel and part of the team that captured the ponies. He wants to make sure she was all right after everything that happened. As they're talking, Sundance tries to get closer to the edge to hear better. She slips and almost takes Fizzy off the roof with her. They hang down over the eaves, but fortunately behind Megan's father. Fizzy teleports back on top of the roof and Wind Whistler helps Sundance get back up.
Megan's father gets a call. The other ponies have been secured at Selfridge and he is expected back at base. He leaves and Megan lets the ponies back in. She tries to assure them her father won't harm the others, but they're not so sure.
At Selfridge, the ponies are locked in the brig. There's some jawing about how they went to all this trouble just to be captured in another world. The argument is cut short by Megan's father's arrival. He accuses them of being aliens from another planet and muses about their intentions. They try to convince him they're refugees just looking for a new home, but he's not convinced. He says they'll be shipped to facilities better suited to dealing with their kind in the morning.
Back at Megan's home, Wind Whistler, Fizzy, and Sundance try to be inconspicuous while settling for the night. Everything is wet outside and the neighbor's dog starts barking loudly as soon as they set hoof in the backyard. They have to hide when Megan's mother comes out to yell at the dog. They sneak back inside Megan's room which seems to be the only safe place at the moment.
Megan and the ponies get ready for bed. However, Megan's brother Danny comes in holding a feather Wind Whistler shed in their mad dash outside. Megan tackles Danny and puts her hand over his mouth until he agrees to be quiet. Danny is excited to meet real life aliens and asks if the ponies have come to steal their hands. Wind Whistler, at first flabbergasted by Danny's suggestion, explains they escaped the gadgapes what they had done to the ponies' world.
At Selfridge, the ponies begin working on an escape plan. They get the keys with levitation Magic while Lightning creates some electromagnetic interference to throw off the surveillance and security systems. Subduing some guards along the way, the ponies get out of the building and into the air field. Guards give chase to the perimeter fence. The pegasi fly over the fence, the unicorns teleport to the other side, and the earthlings jump clear over it. The guards can only stand their dumbstruck as the ponies disappear into the night.
Megan wakes up the next morning to find Wind Whistler and Sundance sleeping in her room, but no Fizzy. She searches the rooms until she finds Fizzy playing tea with Molly. Megan makes Molly promise not tell their parents about the ponies.
When Wind Whistler wakes up, she takes off for Selfridge to see how they can free the others. However, she finds the others roaming rural Macomb County. She lands and tells them about what happened and where Fizzy and Sundance are hiding. However, that's brought to an abrupt end when the pegasi sense foul weather approaching. To be continued later.

I saw it.
Time to continue.
A line of powerful thunderstorms are ripping across Southeast Michigan. The ponies get to Megan's home in time for a tornado to touch down and build in strength to the west. It heads for a neighborhood tearing everything apart in its path.
The pegasi suggest stopping the tornado with their weather control powers. Pegasi haven't even tried to control the weather for generations. However, with the tornado bearing down, they decide to try. Wind Whistler suggests creating an anti-cyclonic circulation to counter the tornado. The pegasi fly around the tornado clockwise as fast as they can and choke it off.
The other ponies help in the cleanup. The first responders and volunteer are awestruck as the ponies use their abilities like a unicorn using levitation magic to safely move a live power line out of the way. The ponies are heralded as heroes at first locally and then nationally and eventually globally. Megan's father soon finds himself heading the protection detail for the ponies as their fame grows.
The ponies begin going over their options. They want to find other ponies still in captivity. Megan's father and others are wary of more ponies. Although the ponies have become local heroes, many still don't completely trust them. To put any concerns to rest, the ponies suggest they find another, lightly populated, reality to settle in.
Just the ponies begin to work on more portable versions of the reality bridging device, the gadgapes appear in Hart Plaza. With a thought they make the incoming police cars explode. They pull electricity from power lines and electrocute people. Their leader calls for the total annihilation of the human species and they start in Detroit.
Megan goes to the ponies to ask them to help. However, the ponies are in the process of escaping to Northern Michigan well away from technology. They would finish their work on the reality bridgers and find another reality. Megan is disgusted that they would run away. Their response is they're ponies, talking ponies with incredible powers, but ponies nonetheless.
They explain what the gadgapes are and what they've done. They explain how they have a crystal that lets them control electricity with their minds. They have never been defeated because either opposition is too primitive to fight against their technology, or they turn the local technology against the natives. There's no stopping them. The only hope is escape and they offer Megan and her family a chance to join them. Megan storms out in disgust.
The gadgapes continue their rampage through the city. The ponies are ready to leave when they hear a news cast about the massacre. They make a gut check and take a vote to fight or run. They eventually all agree to fight. To be concluded later.

Thank you. I just hope Hasbro thinks the same.
Hopefully the last part.
A gagdape bring down a jetliner. However, the pegasi fly in and create a small tornado to bring the plane down safely. The ponies fight the gadgapes in the seats of Detroit tearing the place apart in action movie fashion. However, they can only hold the gadgapes at bay with more coming in. They need a deathblow.
Wind Whistler suggests they travel to the gadgapes home reality and destroy the crystal. They've built their technology so it can only be used mentally so their subject races can't use it against them. With the crystal gone, the gadgapes couldn't use their technology either and would be defenseless without it. However, the gadgapes would deactivate any device they try to use to destroy it. Megan's father suggests they use a device designed to go off when it's deactivated.
Selfridge is holding a small amount of anti-matter until it can be transported to a lab for study. It's held in a magnetic field to keep it away from normal matter since they would annihilate each other with explosive results. The gadgapes have no concept of anti-matter, so if they rigged it up like a bomb, they would deactivate it and the anti-matter would go off. Wind Whistler and Fizzy use their portable bridging devices to head to the gadgapes' home reality while the others battle the gadgapes.
Wind Whistler and Fizzy arrive and make their way to the crystal chamber which is near where they arrive. The crystal is massive and apparently unguarded. Wind Whistler sets up the anti-matter device and sets its "timer." However, they're confronted by the gadgape leader (I don't know if he should look like Mojo-Jojo or Ming the Merciless.)
As he battles the two, the leader comments the gadgapes let the ponies live because they thought they weren't a threat. They were primitive and had no hands. However, he realizes they underestimated them and says he'll exterminate every pony.
Fizzy blasts the leader with a stream of bubbles and Wind Whistler knocks him off the catwalk. He grabs the edge, but Wind Whistler and Fizzy are able to escape. The leader then notices the device. He deactivates it, but the anti-matter explodes. Fizzy and Wind Whistler make it to the surface and bridge back to Earth as the chamber collapses from the explosion. Across the realities, the gadgapes lose control of their technology and the native take action. The gadgapes on Earth lose control of their technology and the humans and ponies quickly overwhelm them.
After the dust settles, the ponies settle in a beautiful valley in a lightly populated reality. With the gadgapes defeated, they can unite their kind. However, it would take generations for their home reality to recover from the damage done to it, so they will restart their civilization here. Megan asks if she'll ever see them, and the say they'll drop in from time to time and maybe bring her to their new home as they explore it.
The movie ends with Wind Whistler and North Star getting Megan, Danny, and Molly as they've found something interesting. They fly into the sky and fade to black.
Obviously this is a rough idea off the top of my head. There will a lot of development of Wind Whistler and Fizzy (or whatever they would be called) as they're really the main characters of all this. They're practically sisters with Wind Whistler protecting Fizzy from a gadgape in the beginning. Megan will also play a major role, but not take over the situation like she did in G1.
I'm not sure how many ponies there will be. It will be a sizable group with some main characters and others playing minor roles.
So, would you want to see this in theaters?

This was the idea I had that would be like the Transformers movies (but the big street level battle would take more inspiration from The Avengers.)
Another idea would be something similar to Arachnis the Captor where an enclave of ponies face a super powerful threat and go on a journey to find a way to defeat it. I don't know about AtC itself.
