I just came across this journal entry which mentions both a possible FiM movie and a spinoff series... about the Mane 6 being transported to the human world and becoming humanized versions of themselves. I have no problems with a movie but... someone please tell me the latter is just a rumor and not an official announcement.

Well a movie would explain why there are only 13 eps for Season 3 but back to 26 for Season 4 Spin-Offs are ok just depends on what they do with them.

That is just a rumor. Even Hasbro isn't stupid enough to do something like Equestria Girls. As for the movie, it is possible, but it will not be about sending ponies to the human world. That is a can of worms that will never be opened.
This is another sad case of bronie trying to stir up trouble.

From what I've heard, they are making Equestria Girls about human versions of the characters. However, it has nothing to do with Friendship is Magic beyond the characters.

It probably won't be called Equestria Girls has that title would be misleading.

Equestria Girls is a new IP Hasbro trademarked twice, once for toy ponies and once for dolls. They're going to use what they paid for.

People have also mentioned that Hasbro had a website with an Equestria Girls domain shut down recently for trademark infringement even though the trademark has only just recently been registered and that website was far older. In any case, there's a magazine article screenshot and an image of the humanized ponies: 4.bp.blogspot.com/-6_ioA3EnY1Q/URrSusOY2EI/AAAAAAAAdCc/ecdLDa1CcsE/s1600/241515__UNOPT__safe.jpeg.jpeg3.bp.blogspot.com/-GHFQlrxH1Uo/URrXY7XZZZI/AAAAAAAAdDo/WnNqKnsZgYY/s1600/Main_6_Hallway_Lineup_1.jpgThe relevant text in the article is quoted as saying: "With series three hitting this year, My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic will also reach the critical 65 x half-hour mark. Arnesen calls My Little Pony a "top-priority" brand, so expect the series to continue to explore new themes and storylines until Twilight Sparkle retires to her paddock. A new companion series called Equestria Girls is set to air this spring, sending the pony heroes on a mission to a new world where they take on human form."

I'd rather they just make the CMC spin-off Faust wanted so that those three can stop taking up episodes of the main show.

Same here. I can prove this may be fake. Rarity would not be caught dead in an outfit like that. Also, it would be really strange to see a blue human walking around. Same goes for Applejack and Fluttershy. I am fairly certain that Hasbro would be smart enough to never open this can of worms. I can see this as part of an episode arc however.

I was gonna say the same thing, and there is alot of people who make human verstions of the mane6 and they always seem to make Twilight ebony for some reason.

Hmm. I think a human version show of the Mane Six can work, but they'd have to play their cards and do their own thing with it. It'd be interested to see the Mane Six in a school setting, because Pinkie having to sit still in a classroom is something that could equal utter hilarity.

You are right Wierdraptor, about having to play their cards carefully. This kind of thing is risky. While it could bring in the dough, it can bomb badly. I really think this might be a case of Brony trying to stir up the fandom as I haven't heard Hasbro talk about something like this. (Then again, I'm never in the loop with Hasbro regarding MLP.)
Lots of little girls dream of being princesses. Twilight becoming one is hasbros way of letting little girls live their dreams. Myself, I never dreamed of being a princess. I wanted to be a superhero.

Well, Rainbow Dash qualifies as a superhero in some ways, so there's that for little girls who are like you were as a kid.
If they're planning any kind of spin-off, I'd imagine that kind of thing would stay behind closed doors with only the "need to know" knowing until they're ready to go forward with it.
