"A lot of ponies have unique names," Battlefield told her. "I mean, I haven't many ponies who have human names like yours, Annie."
In his mind, he wondered why the name "Bellstar" was so famialr to him...

'Annick.' she corrected.
She said nothing for a while again, waiting for someone to open the door already.
'Names is dead c'ious things.' she said absent-mindedly. 'If y'know a fae's true name, d'y'll bow t'r yer ev'ry whim...'
Nothing again. Until she finally lost it and kicked the door. Hard. 'Ruddy dew-man! An' it looks like it'll be parny quicksticks, too!'

Battlefield shook his head. This Annick was quite an unusal character.
From her window, Bellstar smiled in amusement at Annick's impatience. When the young mare kicked the door, she knew it was time to let them in. She then teleported down to the front door and opened it.
"Alright, there's no need to kick down my door," she said. "Come on in."

Annick shrugged and said nothing, although anyone who cared to pay attention would notice her muttering something snide under her breath.
But since she was in the home of somebody else, and not for leisure either, she decided to play it safe and stood herself in a corner, stock-still.

"Please come in," Bellstar told her guests. "You both must be hungry and tired after your journey."
Battlefield was feeling a bit peckish himself. "Much obliged," he said, stepping inside. "Ms. Bellstar, I presume?"
Bellstar nodded. "Correct. Captain Battlefield, former Cheif Gaurdian of Dream Valley, I presume?"
Battlefield bowed a bit. "A pleasure. I assume you the one who wrote us the letters?"
"I am. If you'll be so kind as to make your way to the dining hall, I'll serve you some lunch while we wait for the others to arrive."
"Thank you." Battlefield ehaded to the dinin hall as directed. Bellstar turned to Annick. "If you could make youe way to the dining hall as well, Ms. Annick. You must be hungry."

'Why me?' Sunstar thought privately to herself as she all but dragged her young charge along behind her. "I told you I hate magic when you first asked! the answer is not going to change!" Auora complained, "Now you uproot me from my family and drag me along on some stupid quest?" "Auora, this quest is very important to me. I'm sorry the Flow chose you. If I had any say in the mater, I wouldn't have picked you. Now, be quiet. We are here." Sunstar stood before a large castle, "Watch your tongue. This is the home of Lady Bellstar." Auora scowled darkly at the Guardian. She was fine with her life thank you very much until She came along! Now this? "You said it was my destiny, right? Well, its MY destiny. I will decide MY destiny how I please!" Aoura snapped darkly at Sunstar's back while waiting for the door to be opened. She would make it clear that what ever this "Quest" was, she was not coming along.

Bellstar heard the sounds of voices from behind the front door, and realized that more of her guests had arrived. She smiled when she sensed who one of them where. She opened the door.
"Ah, Sunstar," she exclaimed. "I'm glad you decided to answer my call." She noticed the young unicorn standing behind the Gaurdian. "And who's this?"
Battlefield was sitting at the long table in the dining hall, resting after his long trip, when he suddnely sensed a very familar prescence nearby. He immedialty raised his head, looking in the direction the feelings came from.
"It can't be," he whsipered. She was the last pony he expected to be here.

"Hello, Bellstar." Sunstar smiled and inclined her head in respect, "I got your message. I hope you don't mind me dragging my charge, Auora, along." She gently nudged Auora. "I'm Auora." Auora snapped, "I'm not going on any quest." She resumed her dark scowl at Sunstar's back. "She is not happy about this. Is that Battlefield I'm sensing?" Sunstar asked out loud.

"Of course not," replied Bellstar. "The more who go on this quest, the better." She glanced at Aurora. "Determined little thing, isn't she?"
"Yes, it is, Sunny!" Battlefield called from the dining hall. "Come on in and join us."
"Yes," agreed Bellstar. "Come join the others in the dining hall." She motioned for Sunstar and Aurora to come in.

Sunstar walked in, but Auora stayed put. Sunstar turned. "Auora." She warned, "be respectful." "Fine!" Auora followed Sunstar into the dinning room. She looked around at the other two ponies in the room. Her eyes settled on Battlefield, "He's a demon, Sunstar!" "I know." Sunstar turned to face her old friend. Auora gasped. Couldn't Sunstar realize the danger they were in? Aoura knew about half bloods. She knew how dangerous they were. Well, if Sunstar wasn't going to act, Auora would. She drew her dagger and charged. Next thing she knew, she was tangled in a net. Sunstar's left hand was up and her horn gleamed faintly. Auora froze. "Auora, please. I know Battlefield is half demon. You have nothing to fear from him." Sunstar soothed gently, "Please, calm down." the netting disappered. Auora rose from the floor. "I trust no half bloods!" she hissed, "I know how dangerous they are! You didn't have to watch has your home was destroyed because your parents refused to let you be adopted! You didn't have to fight for survival on the streets! You didn't have to scrape a living every day!" Sunstar sighed, "Auora, I've faced things that would send you running in terror. I know you are upset right now. I was the same way when I was selected to become a Gaurdain of Magic." Auora only took a seat and resumed her scowl at Sunstar, "Will someone please teach the meaning of no to this crazy mare?" Sunstar sighed, again, "If I were given the choice, I would have accepted your no. I told you, I did not pick you. the Flow chose you. Battlefield, meet Auora, my charge. I'm sorry about her surprise attack on you. She is very distrustful of half bloods, as she calls them, with good reason considering what happened to her."

Battlefield, who hadn't moved an inch, waved his hand dismissively. "Forget abou it." He glanced at Astoria. "Just for your information, my parents were murdered when I was eighteen, I was later possed by a powerful demi-god, and ended up destroying the kingdom I grew up in. Your not the only one in the world who lost someone dear to you." He then sat down again.
"Well, I think some more introductions need to be made," said Bellstar. "She motioned to Annick. "Sunstar, Aurora, this is Annick. Another pony who has answered my call."

'Ey up.' Annick answered, making a vague half-salute.
She turned to the two and looked them both up and down, as she was wont to doing, before focusing her attention on the mare who appeared to be her age.
'Yer a reet fashous girl, I see.' she said. 'Such dramatics. A' can only 'ope ye grer out'i 'em soon e'uff.'
Her multi-coloured eye suddenly swivelled around in its socket, lingering on Auora, Sunstar, Bellstar and Battlefield in turn.
'Jis' so ye know.' she began again. 'I am ne'ther sympathe'ic ner sorry fer any'a you.' She turned back to her packed sarnies that seemed to be far more interesting. 'I will regard you, all of you, with...' she continued, mouth half-full, '..blinden' indifference.'

Battlefield rolled his eyes. "And I plan to regard with as much indifference, Annick," he replied, "since it seems you've decided long ago to give up any form of social interaction whatsoever."
"Well, now that everyone has been introduced," said Bellstar, "it is time to get down to buisness. If you will have a seat, we will begin."

'Oh please.' Annick replied. 'Spare me yer friendship speeches. I 'ardly want a barney on me 'ands.' She finished off her sandwich and waited for Bellstar to begin, taking out an oversized leather-bound sketchbook and a pencil. ---- [another character. she won't appear until later.] Name: Heike Hoekstren (not her real name; she keeps it to herself in order to keep herself safe.) Gender: Female Breed: Mountain - similar to earth, but stockier, fluffier and with large goat-like horns. Body and Hair Color: Light tan body with paler marks around eyes, nose, hands and feet Dusty rose hair with green streak tied up with a ribbon. Eye Color: Bright green Clothing: One-piece dress that fades from burgundy at the top to pinkish red at the bottom and is very very frilly. Wears a lot of little gold accessories on her horns, wrists, her hair.. Powers/Abilities: Familiar with many of the medicinal (and toxic) properties of herbs Built-up immunity to toxins Makes a killer cup of tea Personal Possessions: A flagon of what appears to be tea, but is actually quite the potent trip A short bead-decorated staff that doubles as a walking stick or a club Personal Weapons: Aforementioned club Improvised poisons Drunken power. Anything else of Interest: She is Annick's only friend, and just as fascinated by the human world as she is. They often get together for tea, and Heike once recieved a Superlambanana doll from her once. She is a fairly well-known personality where she lives for never ever missing a feast or a party. Seems to spend a good amount of her time drunk or otherwise under the influence. She tends to come off as rowdy or arrogant, but she means well. She's just that cheerful. Living for a better part of a century tends to do that to you.

Battlefield, once again, simply rolled his eyes, and turned his attention to Bellstar.
"A hundred years ago," Bellstar began, "a unicorn sorcerer named Deathbolt tried to conquer the known world with both his powers, and an army he had raised consisting of mercenaries, criminals, pscycopaths, and demon ponies. He nearly succedeed, with one kingdom after another falling to him. But, he was defeated by both the combined forces of several free kingdoms, including Dream Valley and Riverfalls, and by a coven of magic-using ponies of all breeds. They were able to push him and his army back to his fortress, Castle Coldheart, in the Graylock Mountains. There they managed to kill him in a duel with magic. They then removed his heart and sealed it in a box enchanted with powerful protection spells, and hid it away somewhere in the fortress. To this date, it has never been found. They burned the rest of his body to ashes in a funeral pyre."
"Interesting story," Battlefield remarked. "But where do we come in?"
"It is said that anyone who finds the Heart and posseses it will have tremendous power," Bellstar explained. "But for now, no one has able to. But I recently learned that a group of dark witch and warlock ponies calling themselves the "Servants of Deathbolt" are planning to once again retrieve the Heart. Only the Gods know what they are planning to do once they have it, but they cannot be allowed to have it. That's why I've called upon all of you, some of the greatest ponies in the world. I want you all to go with me to Castle Coldheart, and stop these evil ponies from possessing the Heart."
