"One moment." Belsltar lit her horn, and a bowl of pudding appeared in front of Annick. "How's that?"

[yorkshire pudding. it's solid pastry.]
You could have fuelled a nation with the light from Annick's eyes. She still didn't say anything, but that was more likely due to having a mouth full of pastry than choice. 'Mrrflemrrrr!'

Bellstar smiled. "I take it you like it."

"I don't suspose you could whip up my mothers famous Cherry Pancakes, could you?" Aurora looked hopeful. Sunstar thought, "hmm, I'll go with a cucumber sandwhich, please."

"Say no more," exclaimed Bellstar, lighting her horn once more. Thier repsective meals suddenly appeared in front of Aurora and Sunstar. She turned to Battlefield. "What would you like?"
Battlefield grinned, glancing at Sunstar. "How about some roasted hairy black dink?"
Bellstar was confused. "I beg your pardon?"

"He means my husband, Bryon." Sunstar explained, swallowing a bite of sandwhich, "Bryon is a black standard Alicorn with small wings. It's a long running joke between us. Speaking of which, he nearly became a roasted hairy black dink a week ago. I told him to say inside because of a lightening storm, but does he listen? no. He goes out in it and nearly ends up getting fried. Sometimes I wonder how I managed to fall in love with him in the first place." She chuckled.
Aurora stared at the pancakes in front of her. Slowly, she cut a bite from the pancake and put it into her mouth, and literally swooned. It was her mothers secret recipe. She began to eat hungerily.

Battlefield laughed. "There's definately something wrong with him," he said. "There's a reaosn I call him a dink. Next time just chain him to the wall. He won't be going anywhere."
Bellstar laughed. "Oh, I see. What would you like to eat, Battlefield?"
"Some roasted elk."
"As you wish." Some roasted elk appeared in front of Battlefield, who began to eat it.

'Yer all married...' Annick commented to nobody in particular, sounding rather weary. 'M'teacher's married...sorta...'e loves 'is...love, and 'e loves 'im back...' By the end of that sentence she was droning in a rather loopy way.

"Yeah, me and Sunstar are married," Battlefield replied, knowing that Annick probably didn't hear him. He took another bite of the elk. "This is delicious, Ms. Bellstar."
"Please, just call me Bellstar," the sorceress replied. "And I glad you like it." She then walked over to Aurora. "I hope the pancakes are just the way you like them. I tried to reproduce them as best I could."
"Sunny, the reason you fell in love with Byron was because, in his own clumsy way, he managed to charm you," Battlefield told his friend. "And why the hell was he out in an lightining storm in the first place?"

"They taste just like moms. I haven't eaten these since I was 2 years old." Aurora said, "Looking up, "They are my only real memory of my mother."
"He doesn't have common sense. Well, We picked up an energy surge in the shrine. Bryon was all for braving the storm and going to check it out. Sometimes, an energy surge is all the warning we have of mechanical failures within the great engines that power Angel's Islands flight. We decided to pool our power and create a cloud to carry Angel's island to help ease the strain on the engines. Bryon decided an hour later that he had to go check on the engines and left. He came back a bit singed but in one piece." Sunstar explained.

Bellstar smiled. "I'm glad you like them," he said, sitting down next to Aurora. "I reproduced them based on your memories I read with my magic." She then said, "I couldn't but notice that you seemed to be interested in Deathbolt when I was telling his story. Then you asked when we would leave. Can I assume you have changed your mind about the Quest?"
Battlefield laughed. "Yeah, that's our Byron! A hairy, black dink extradionaire." He took another bite of elk and swallowed it. "He's a good father and husband, I'll give him that." He took a third bite of the elk. "Him and everybody were certainly there for Burning Gold when I was on knocking on death's door those couple of days after being beaten down by Deathbolt."
He noticed Annick and rolled his eyes. She certainly was a strange character.

"I have. I will go on the Quest." Aurora looked up at Bellstar, "There are certian people who must learn a little lesson in the meaning of the word no." her eyes darkened a bit.
"We thought for sure we were losing you there. Bryon really helped Burning Gold then. He told her he would stay with her as long as she needed him. I was still mostly asleep then and he knew I wasn't in any danger. I didn't know how close to death you were until months later, when Galaxy showed me the images. I can't believe you actually survived injuries that bad. Bryon said the nights were the worst. He kept expecting to wake up to find you gone." Sunstar blinked, "I really wish I could have been more help then." "I just had a thought. Could Deathbolt had wanted more power? Where I come from, there are underground fractions who worship their chosen Gaurdian fanatically. They believe their chosen gaurdian is far stronger then the rest." Aurora turned back to her pancakes. "I've heard of them. It's not like we guardians are more powerful then the standard magic user. We've had time to hone our powers, much more time then most thanks to the Flow." Sunstar stopped suddenly, "The Flow! There are some who believe the Flow grants immortaility as well as unimaginable power to those who wield it. Ugh! Why can't I remember what Deathbolt did to me?"

Bellstar didn't fail to notice the darkened look in Aurora's eyes. "Oh, who are they? And why? If you don't mind telling me."
"Perhaps he didn't want you to remember what he did to you," Battlefield suggested. "So there's not telling what he did." He finished off his elk. "Maybe Deathbolt did want a piece of the Flow, and a form as a Dralicorn, to boot, from you." He then grinned. "Deathbolt did give me a good pounding, but it'll take more than that to kill me. You know that. Course, I do owe Byron a lot. In fact, I owe every one of my family and friends a lot."

"I am from Winthrop Valley. lots of couples go to adopt babies there. Unicorns are in high demand. A baby with a two toned coat and mane can go for several million jangles. Make that baby a unicorn, and you could retire very early. My parents, Chronos and Jade, are both solid colored unicorns. In Winthrop, unicorns just don't date or get together. The risk of having a unicorn baby is just too great. My parents hid their horns in public. They concieved me and the plan was to have me in secret. Mom ran into trouble and needed help delivering me. They went to a crib house because they were very poor and couldn't afford going to a hospital. A crib house is a place were mothers go to give birth and abandon their babies. I was finally born with help from the Crib Lady. The Crib Lady runs the crib house. She took me away to clean me up, but she refused to let my parents see me. They were told I was horribly deformed from the hard delivery and they were better off not seeing me. They stayed in the crib house so my mother could rest. my father snuck back and found me. He brought me to my mother and they snuck out of the place as soon as mother felt strong enough. My father finally got a really good job and we were moved into a better, safer nieghborhood. when I was six months old, several thugs kidnapped me and took me back to the crib house. Aparently, the crib lady put pictures of me up on the adoption boards and I was in high demand. My father got me back after razing the crib house. We then moved to an all new town to a place where I would be safe. I grew into childhood. When I was eight years old, My home was razed. my mother was killed in the fire and my father killed himself because he thought I was dead too. I was taken to an adoption house and my picture put on the adoption boards. It was too late. I was well past the age of desirablity, even with my rare coat type. I ran from the adoption house and have lived on the streets ever since. The guy I plan to teach the word no to, his name is Zurg." Aurora explained, "He deserves to die for the pain he has caused countless of families."
"We all owe Bryon a lot. He was the least injured of us gaurdians and he had to deal with the fallout and make sure the public knew that everything was going to be okay. I hear he also donated blood to you a few times." Sunstar finished her sandwhich.

Bellstar listened carefully to Aurora's story. "I see," she said quietly, when the young unicorn was finished. "I think the Heart can help you immensly with that. Excuse me for a moment." She left the room for a moment, and was gone a few minutes before she returned. She was carrying a large, leather-bound book. "This book will tell you everything you would want to know about Deathbolt and the Heart. I think you will find it interesting."
Battlefield smiled. "Then it's no wonder I sometimes feel like a dink. I'm technically part dink!"
